Canmore Downtown Business Association is looking for an
Executive Director
The Canmore Downtown Business Association is seeking an Executive Director (half time position) to
provide leadership to the operational administration of an association with over 200 business members as well as supporting the Board of Directors with the strategic direction of the community.
Reporting to the Canmore Downtown Business Association Board of Directors, the Executive Director must have the ability to work collaboratively in developing strong relationships with a variety of community
organizations, various levels of government, funders, and the media.
The Executive Director is an excellent communicator who is able to articulate the vision and purpose of the Association while building partnershipswith the community. The Executive Director must possess the ability to market Canmore’s Downtown Business Association to attract events and business.
Qualified candidates will possess:
• Five or more years of progressive management experience with signifi cant experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative business relationships.
• An awareness of current community challenges, trends and opportunities relating to Canmore and a keen interest and passion for Downtown Canmore.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage contract resources.
• Experience in managing and/or overseeing large projects and events.
• Experience in evaluating the success of projects and events, and refreshing project approaches to
reflect new directions and initiatives.
• Skills in financial management, strategic relationships with all levels of government and with local Town
council and community stakeholders.
• Persuasive and passionate communications skills with experience in public relations, marketing and all
aspects of media relations.
• Education in a related fi eld such as business administration etc.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
• Communicate with the membership constantly and effectively to help keep the Board of Directors in touch
with the common wishes of the membership for the common good of the Canmore Downtown Business
District.
• Experience in a self-directed working environment.
The Executive Director half time for $35,000/ year, the position offers a competitive salary.
